Call for Collaborations

We believe XVCL can provide a uniform and effective solution to problems of configuring variants in a wide range of software and non-software domains. Whether you are a commercial software developer or researcher, we would like to hear from you about the application domains you try to tackle with XVCL and work with you on specific problems.

Possible areas of collaboration include the following:

1.   Applying XVCL to configuring variants in Product Line architectures and code, in various application domains (such as information systems, real-time systems, embedded systems, etc.) and problem areas (such as functional and non-functional requirements, user interfaces, components encapsulating business logic, software-hardware interfaces, etc.)

2.   Applying XVCL to configuring variants in UML models of Product Lines.

3.   Applying XVCL to configuring variants in other software artifacts such as requirement documents or test cases.

4.   Innovative applications of XVCL to configuring variants in non-software domains such as production processes, genetics, hardware configurations, etc.

5.   Comparative studies among the many technical approaches to managing Product Lines such as transformational approaches, program generation techniques, software templates, Aspect-Oriented Programming (XEROX), Intentional Programming (Microsoft) or Multi-Dimensional Hyperspaces (IBM).
